More than 30 years ago, various residents of Baltimore city began the Cherry Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church in a small two-story house right here in this community. Because of growth, this one-story church was erected on the same property in 1988.
Unfortunately, on late Tuesday night, December 23, word came to us that our church home was completely destroyed by fire. Although this is a devastating loss, especially during the Christmas season, we will continue to hold on to our faith in God that He will see us through during this rough situation.
The story of Job is one to reflect on during this situation. You see Job had lost everything. But even at his lowest, when he was going through trials, he praised God. To some, this trial could be looked upon as Cherry Hill church’s lowest point. And yes it hurts to loose our church home. But we are reminded by the story of Job that God will take care of us. For it tells us in Job 1:21 “the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”
We thank all of our sister Seventh-day Adventist churches in Baltimore for reaching out to us and welcoming us into their church homes until we make concrete decisions on where to worship.
Your prayers are definitely appreciated and welcomed.
